How our flood-fill algorithm works
Unlike simple color replacement tools that change every pixel of a similar color (which can eat into your subject), our tool uses a flood-fill algorithm. Here's the difference:
- Simple color replacement: Removes all pixels that match the selected color, even if they're inside the subject (like skin, clothing, etc.). Produces poor results on complex photos.
- Flood-fill (our approach): Starts from where you click and spreads outward through connected pixels of similar color. If the same color exists inside the subject but isn't connected to the background, it's safely preserved.
We also seed the algorithm from all four image edges, so it automatically detects background regions that extend to the borders. The result is much more accurate subject preservation.

Tips for best results
