Troubleshooting guides and expert tips to help you resize and compress images like a pro.
Upload Failed - Troubleshooting
Because PhotoResizer.in processes images locally in your browser, actual server "uploads" don't happen. An "upload fail" usually means the browser failed to read the file from your disk. This can be caused by corrupted files, strict file permissions, or the browser running out of memory while decoding a very high-resolution image.
Image Too Large - Solutions
Our browser-based tools have a safe input limit of 25MB. If your image exceeds this, it may cause the browser tab to crash or become unresponsive. To process larger files, we recommend using a desktop browser with at least 8GB of RAM and closing other high-memory tabs before starting.
Unsupported Format - Fix
We officially support JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), PNG (.png), and WebP (.webp). If you receive an unsupported format error, please convert your file (e.g., HEIC from iPhones or RAW from cameras) to a standard JPEG before using our resizer. Our Batch Converter can help with multiple files.
Browser Compatibility
PhotoResizer.in requires modern web standards like WebAssembly and Canvas. For the best experience, use the latest versions of Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge. If you are on an older system, updating your browser is the most effective fix for performance issues.
Mobile Upload Issues
On mobile devices, ensure you grant the browser permission to access your "Photos" or "Files" when prompted. If the selector doesn't open, try clearing your mobile browser cache or using "Incognito/Private" mode, which often resets temporary permission blocks.
Offline Mode Guide
PhotoResizer.in is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Once the site is loaded, you can continue to resize and compress images without an active internet connection. This is possible because all the image processing logic is downloaded and stored in your browser's cache.
PWA Installation
You can install PhotoResizer.in as a native-like app. On Chrome (Desktop & Android), look for the "Install" icon in the address bar. On iOS Safari, tap the Share button and select "Add to Home Screen". This provides faster access and better offline reliability.
