Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about resizing, privacy, security, and using our free photo tools.
Where are my photos stored?
Nowhere. Your photos never leave your device. PhotoResizer.in operates entirely using client-side JavaScript. When you select a photo, it is loaded directly into your browser's memory and processed on your own hardware. We do not have access to your images, we do not upload them to any servers, and once you close the tab, the image data is completely cleared.
What are the file size limits?
To ensure the site doesn't crash your browser, we have safe limitations: Maximum input size is 25 MB per image. Images above 8000x8000 pixels may be automatically scaled down. You can process up to 50 images in a single batch.
Is PhotoResizer.in secure?
Yes. In addition to our client-side (no upload) processing model, our site uses HTTPS encryption for all traffic. Since we don't have a central database of images or user accounts, there is no single target for data breaches. All processing is isolated to your browser session.
How is my privacy protected?
Our entire platform is architected around a privacy-first approach. Because images are processed inside your browser, we have zero capability to see, share, or collect your photos. We use standard, anonymized analytics to measure site traffic, but this contains no personal information or image data.
What file formats are supported?
We support the most common web image formats for both reading and exporting: JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), PNG (.png), and WebP (.webp). Our tools are optimized for converting images between these formats while maintaining the highest possible quality.
Can I use these tools for commercial purposes?
Yes! All of our core tools, including image resizing, compression, and background removal, are completely free for both personal and commercial use. Whether you are editing product photos for e-commerce or processing bulk images for a client, you won't encounter paywalls or watermarks.
Which browsers are supported?
We officially support the latest two versions of all major modern browsers: Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Since we use advanced browser-based technologies (WebAssembly and Canvas), older browsers or Internet Explorer are not supported.
Is it mobile friendly?
Absolutely. PhotoResizer.in is fully responsive and optimized for modern smartphones and tablets. Most modern mobile devices have powerful processors well-suited for our browser-based image processing.
Does it work offline?
Yes. PhotoResizer.in is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Once you've visited the site, you can continue to use most resizing and compression tools even if you lose your internet connection, as all processing logic resides in your browser.
Do I need to provide attribution?
No attribution is required. You maintain 100% of the copyright to your original photos and any modified versions you create on our platform. While not required, sharing our tool with others is always appreciated!
How do I fix "Aw, Snap!" or memory errors?
These errors usually happen when your browser runs out of memory while processing very large images. Try closing other browser tabs, restarting your browser, or reducing the size of the input image before processing.
How do I resize photo for SSC, UPSC, or bank exams?
Simply go to our dedicated exam photo pages like /ssc-photo-resize or /upsc-photo-resize. Select your exam category, upload your photo, and our tool automatically sets the correct dimensions (e.g., 100×120 px for SSC) and target KB size (e.g., 20-50KB). Download the perfectly formatted photo ready for upload.
How do I resize photo for passport or visa applications?
Use our passport photo resizer at /passport-visa-photo-resize or select your specific country at /passport-photo-resize/[country]. We support USA, UK, Canada, Schengen, UAE, and 30+ other countries. Each tool automatically sets the correct photo size, background color, and file format required by that country's visa authorities.
